We drove to Tulsa for Easter weekend. Then we came home on Monday night. We got a hard phone call on Tuesday informing us that Doug's grandpa had a stroke and was in the ICU in Tulsa. So we got back in the car and drove to Tulsa. We stayed with him and his mom for a day but had to come home to work. So we drove back home on Wednesday. On Thursday we had to drive to OKC for a fundraising banquet for camp. We stayed the night and drove back from OKC on Friday.
This week has felt like a blur between Doug's grandpa's condition, work commitments, and all the time driving in the car. We have spent a lot of time going through drive-thru's for food, filling up gas tanks, and cruising down the trunpike. Henry has been a champion baby. He deserves a treat. And Doug and I are excited to have our bed to sleep in tonight. It looks like there is a long road to recovery ahead for Doug's grandpa, so I see lots of trips to Tulsa in our near future. We are so blessed to be able to be close enough to hop in the car and go and see him.
