Bright Days

It was bitter cold here last week. Some of the coldest temps in the decade. But, the thing that got us through it was the sun. Each day was bright and sunny, and that helped keep our spirits up. The sunny days also mean that it is not pitch black on my walks home from work. It really is amazing how much it helps to be ending my work day with light still in the sky.

Homemade Pizza Night

I made this recipe and then we invited four friends over to make individual pizzas. It was a fun night of eating, talking, laughing, and eating some more.

And, we have already accomplished one of our nine goals for 2009.

Wicked Weekend

We got to see Wicked yesterday. We did not want to ask someone to take of picture of us together with the sign because it was 20 degrees and there were millions of people around. So we quickly snapped these two photos of each other with the sign and then we ran across the street and had dinner in the Walnut Room.

It was a really really great afternoon and evening. Doug is an excellent gift giver.

Cold Weather

It has been so cold and snowy here lately that all we want to do is stay inside our little apartment. The cold weather has also brought many comfort food dishes to our table. I have made baked pasta, chocolate chip cookies, buffalo wings, chili, chicken and stuffing skillet, and lots of cheese bread. We eat our dinner in our comfy clothes (Doug's green pants and my black yoga pants) and then we like to watch a tv program together and then we usually end the night playing a game of skip-bo. I taught Doug how to play and now he beats me almost every time.

And work has been long, hard and busy for the past few weeks so going home at the end of the night is a wonderful thing.
