Merry Merry Christmas

We got to celebrate Christmas today in Tulsa, OK with the Castle family. Our day was filled with lots of laughing, lots of picture taking, and lots of game playing. It is always fun when all the Castle kids are together:

For Mom:

Just so you all can see how adorable our niece and nephew are. And, because my mom wants to see these pictures!

This Past Week We:

1. Doug studied and studied and studied for finals.
2. Then he took those finals. (He answered 17 essay test questions within 3 days!)
3. Then we celebrated his accomplishments and ate at Carson's. Doug had the brisket sandwich and I had the pulled pork sandwich. It was very yummy.
4. We attended my work Christmas party. While at this Christmas party we were in a room filled with my co-workers and their friends and spouses. I was sitting on the floor talking with someone and Doug was standing up right beside me. Doug's hand decided it did not want to hold his coffee cup anymore, so I got a cup of coffee all over my legs. We had a pretty good laugh about that.
5. Celebrated Christmas with sister Bethany. I made pot sticker's, sweet potato fries, and sesame spinach.

Tuesday Thoughts

Doug has finals this week. He has been studying and studying and studying. And yet, when I walked into our apartment last night it was spotless. Doug cleaned the apartment even in the middle of his finals week. What a sweet heart.

Then, we had a little mini-Christmas dinner party. Sister Bethany came over for dinner and we exchanged our presents early. I made pot stickers, sesame spinach, and sweet potatoe fries. Bethany brought the dessert, egg nog. We had a nice little dinner together.

And today the snow is back and I have hot tea in my mug again and I am ready to be back at home under that comfy blanket again.

This Past Week We:

1. Spent time with my father, again. He came to propose his PhD dissertation. He did great and he is now officially a PhD candidate. Next big step is to defend his dissertation.
2. Got snowed on.
3. Sat in traffic.
4. Went Christmas shopping at Macy's.
5. Watched two little boys run around our small apartment for two hours. The six year old very politely told me that when he eats chocolate it makes him poop.
6. We watched Fred Claus.
7. Doug made a really yummy dinner.
8. Finally got our package from Amazon.
9. Had a Whole Foods dinner date.
10. Watched OU beat Mizzou.

Thick Skin

I need to grow thicker skin.
As soon as I do this I will cry much less and I will not get instantly stressed out when someone is upset with me. And I will be able to stand up for myself better.

I have had a headache all day, but then it spiked this afternoon. So, now I am sitting at my desk trying to find a cure in hot tea and patiently waiting for five o' clock. I will then promptly walk home, put my sweat pants on, and lay on the couch underneath our most warm and fuzzy blanket.

A good read

This is a really fun, entertaining article.

You should totally read it.

What all of my old Xanga posts look like:

1."may gratitude continue to take over your heart - crowding out worry, fear, jealousy, envy, hate and the litany of other useless emotions"

2. Doug walked over in the cold and snow to deliver me a hott, fresh, delicious americano. I feel his love for me when he does these small things.

3. What I had to eat Thanksgiving Lunch: Pizza and Green Bean Casserole
and for dinner: Duck, stuffing, salad, and pumpkin cake.

4. Our awful Thanksgiving Day picture:

(we just wanted to leave some room for improvement)
